The six pieces for amateur string orchestra are the result of working with youth orchestras and thus arose from practical experience. The primary goal was to create exciting pieces that are achievable for young people and enjoyable for everyone involved to rehearse – and ultimately, of course, for the audience attending the performance. Since the instrumentation in amateur orchestras is rarely constant, the pieces are arranged so that they can be played with just violins and cellos, as well as with a full string orchestra including violas and double bass.
