Friedrich Wilhelm Grützmacher (1832–1903) was a prominent 19th-century German cellist and pedagogue. He is best known for two core pedagogical study collections: the 24 Etudes, Op. 38 and the Daily Exercises, Op. 67. These collections remain essential in advancing cello technique, focusing heavily on thumb positions, shifting, and bowing.
