The Pirastro Tonica violin strings are available in medium tension and the strings have the following specification:

• E string silversteel;
• A string : Synthetic core with aluminum wrapping;
• D- and G string : Synthetic core with silver wrapping.

All A, D and G-strings are equipped with a ball, whereas E-strings are available with both a ball and a loop. As a variation, the D-string is also available with aluminum winding (only 4/4) and the E-string is also available with aluminum winding.

Qualities of this string set:

• Round in sound, even on all strings;
• Works well with any stroke technique;
• Little noise and noise;
• Also easy to play in the higher positions;
• Suitable for all violins;
• The pianissimo sound has been significantly improved;
• Insensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Pirastro has stopped producing the strong and soft versions of Tonica violin strings and as a result this is a discontinued item that can not be ordered or very limited from the wholesaler. There are still a few sets and strings available.
