Pirastro Passione A and D cello strings are made of a solid steel core wound with a chrome steel winding. According to the manufacturer, the strings have an exceptionally round and warm sound with a diverse spectrum of overtones. Furthermore, the strings offer a nice clear sound, also in the high register; they give an excellent response and powerful sound (with the right bowing technique!) and a harmonious transition from the A to the D string.

• A string : solid steel core with chrome steel winding;
• D string : solid steel core with chrome steel winding.

Pirastro Passione G and C cello strings have a sheep gut core, which is hand wound. The strings have a fascinating variety of timbres, which gives the cellist many possibilities. In addition, the strings give a full, warm, brilliant, powerful and clear sound. The strings are stable very quickly and easy to tune. The following versions are available, in medium, strong and soft diam/string tension, indicated in PM (Pirazzi meter = 0.05 mm):

• G string : gut core with chrome steel winding, ball-end (27 1/2, 28 or 28 1/2);
• C string : gut core with tungsten winding, ball-end (31 1/2, 32 or 32 1/2).

Available in Medium, Strong and Soft.

The following string combinations are recommended by cello pros using these Pirastro strings:

• Passione A medium, Passione D strong; Evah Pirazzi G strong, Evah Pirazzi Soloist C - round and powerful sound;
• Passione A medium, Evah Pirazzi Soloist D, Evah Pirazzi G strong, Evah Pirazzi Soloist C - clear and powerful sound.

Please note that when changing the string (other string tension/diameter-PM) of a set, the sound of the 3 other strings can be influenced.
