Dominant 3/4 Orchestra double bass strings are made of a very flexible multi-thread synthetic core, which brings the warmth of the sound close to that of a gut string. The string is insensitive to changes in humidity. In the standard set all strings are chrome wound.

Thomastik has discontinued the C Ext string. A few strings are still available at a reduced price.
