Erfurt-born composer Edward Mollenhauer (1827–1914) served in America as a soloist and as a teacher. There are some interesting pieces for young Geiger since “The Boy Paganini” and “The Infant Paganini”. Both appear in the original work for music and keyboard anyway, first in a translation for the cello from Christoph Sassmannshaus. The fantasy “The Infant Paganini” for Violine and Piano (BA 10691) is a journeyful performance in the first years and the lessons of the students at the level of the fourth band of the Sassmannshaus Violin School. They became Flageoletts und Pizzicati erwartet.
