The Shadow double basspick-upsystem is anactive system that is mounted under the pillars of the bridge/bridge and, according to the manufacturer, has 'zero' noise and/or hum. Shadow'sNanoflextechnologymakesnocompromisesinpreservingtheoriginal sound of the double bass.Itisbuilttoauthenticallyreproducetheinstrument'svibrationswitheverymovementofthebowinallpositions. An instrumentmodification is not necessary and wasamustinthedevelopmentofthisabsolutely noise andhum-freepick-upsystem.Nanoflexpickupsnotonlypick upthevibrationsofthestringslike " ordinary"pickups, which are mounted under the bridge, butNanoflex also detectsthevibrationsofthestringsand the body oftheinstrumentat the same time.
