Beautiful violin “Johann Karl Klotz Mittenwald 1760 ” in perfect condition. Top aged between 1600 - 1741 as stated by the Dendrochronologic Examination by Veersteeg Luthier in 2015, included in the sale, including taxation report. Varnish reddish brown.
The Klotz family and the history of Mittenwald are closely related. There are at least 25 known violin makers in the Klotz family, many of whom worked at the same time as each other. Johann Karl Klotz (1709-1769) was the grandson of the famous Matthias Klotz (1653-1743) and the son of Sebastian Klotz (1687-1737).
