Pirastro "Oliv" strings are the flagship among Pirastro's gut core strings, highly favored for their complex, rich sound and the ability to fine-tune the string tension very precisely (per 1/4 PM).
The sheep gut core is manufactured, wound, and polished by hand in the traditional way.

Variations & Options
- Silver D-string: This version is richer in overtones and offers an easier response.
- "Stiff" version: The D- and G-strings are also available in a stiffer variation, providing a darker and more powerful sound.

- E-string: Goldsteel (soft, medium, strong)
- A-string: Gut core, aluminum wound (gauge 13 1/4, 13 1/2, 13 3/4, or 14)
- D-string: Gut core, gold-aluminum wound (gauge 16 1/4, 16 1/2, 16 3/4, or 17)
- D-string: Gut core, silver wound (gauge 13 1/2, 13 3/4, 14, 14 1/4, or 14 1/2)
- G-string: Gut core, gold-silver wound (gauge 15 1/4, 15 1/2, 15 3/4, 16, or 16 1/4)
Tailpiece Options:
- E-string: Available with a ball end or loop end.
- A-string: Equipped with a ball end.
- D- and G-strings: Equipped with a knot.
Packaging & Sizes: Only available for full-size violins (4/4 size), packed in envelopes or available as straight strings.
