DYNAMO ® strings for violin are the latest addition to the range of Thomastik from Vienna-Austria. According to the manufacturer, they offer a wide sound AND an excellent response . In addition, the following properties apply:
- Wide dynamic range;
- Sound colors that modulate completely;
- Sound good on most old and new instruments;
- The sound will blow the musician AND the audience away (with the right stroke technique and only in combination with a good quality violin....);
- Ideally suited for orchestral players, chamber musicians and soloists (so actually for everyone.....)

The string set consists of the following strings:
- E string carbon steel multi layer tinplated (ball/loop);
- A string with synthetic core and aluminum winding;
- D string with synthetic core and silver winding;
- G string with synthetic core and silver winding.
The E string is also available in a carbon steel tin-plated version (DY015). This is a very soloistic string, more brilliant and brighter than the E-string (DY01) included in the set. Especially recommended for violins with a very low action on the E-string – they can benefit from the powerful sound of the DY01S E-string, according to Thomastik-Infeld.
The D string is also available with an aluminum winding.
Available in sizes 4/4, 3/4 and 1/2.
Thomastik recently added a solo version to its range. With the DY01S and DY04B, the set sounds more brilliant and colorful, while projecting the sound even more beautifully. The E string DY01S gives the set a more soloistic character. However, the timbre remains unchanged, as the warmth and powerful core of the G string DY04B enhance the overall warmth of the set.
The DY100S solo string set consists of the following strings:
- E string DY01S, carbon steel, multi-layer tin-plated (ball/loop);
- A string DY02 with synthetic core and aluminum winding;
- D string DY03A with synthetic core and silver winding;
- G string DY04B with synthetic core and silver winding.
