The work, composed in 1981, is a transcription of six well-known pieces from the piano cycle Játékok, which was begun in 1973 and has since expanded to ten volumes. Michelle Lee, Rafael Gonzales de Lare and Richard Nunn played at the London premiere in 1982. Since then, the work has been frequently heard on concert stages.
