A relative newcomer in the cello string world are the Perpetual strings from Pirastro. The strings have a very clear and powerful sound. Every string plays very easily, especially the G and C strings, even with very light bowing techniques. The G and C strings are also available in the strong version with a higher string tension. For the advanced cello player who requires even more power and dynamics, the soloist version is available with a slightly higher string tension (A and D strings). Furthermore, the Cadenza versions of the G and C string became available in 2017. These strings have a slightly lower string tension and therefore an even lighter response, while the volume and projection remain at the same level. The sound of the Cadenza strings is pure, brilliant and clear, and provides new opportunities for the discerning cellist to explore new color spectrums. The Strong and Soloist versions have an even greater clear and dynamic sound (for the advanced cellist!). As the latest addition to the Perpetual family, the Edition version has been launched by Pirastro. This string set is the most powerful of the family and Pirastro has provided a detailed explanation (see link below). 

The A and D strings are made of steel, wound with chrome steel, the G and C strings have a multi-wire steel core, with tungsten winding.
